Committee Members Sets Middle Tennessee Electric’s Annual Meeting

A committee of local members, including some Cannon Countians, has set Middle Tennessee Electric’s Annual Meeting for August 16th at Middle Tennessee State University's Murphy Center in Murfreesboro.

MTEMC’s Annual Meeting gives members a chance to participate in a business session and to vote to fill positions on the cooperative’s Board of Directors. The committee approved a list of events that also will allow members to have a free health screening, a free lunch and a chance to win door prizes.

The Miss MTEMC beauty pageant is a highlight of the meeting. About 30 contestants ages 16-21 will compete for the title.

As part of its bylaws, MTEMC has held a members' meeting every year since the not-for-profit cooperative was organized in 1936. MTEMC lists nearly 180,000 residences, businesses and industries as members in Cannon, Rutherford, Williamson, Wilson and surrounding counties.
