Sale Of TennCare Prescriptions Brings Charges

A local man has been arrested after he allegedly sold his TennCare provided prescription drugs. James Howard Mooneyham, age 57 of Manustown Road, was arrested by the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department after an investigation led authorities to believe he sold his drugs to a local citizen for profit. According to court documents, Mooneyham first used his TennCare benefits to obtain the medication at no cost to him and then sold it to the third party. The drug allegedly sold by Mooneyham was the powerful anti-depressant Xanax.

Mooneyham is charged with sale of a controlled substance and will appear before General Sessions Judge Susan Melton on May 20th. He is currently free on $2,500.00 bond. It is not yet known how many pills Mooneyham sold or how much he made from the sales.
