The Tennessee Department of Transportation is looking for the next Teen Star. They're looking for high school students to write, shoot, edit and direct a 25-second public service announcement about teen safe driving in work zones. The Between the Barrels Project Orange Contest is open to all high school students in the state. Entries are due by March 1st. Entries will be judged on concept, effectiveness of the message and creativity. Online voting from March 1st through 10th will also count for 20-percent of the score. Five regional winners will be selected from the Tri-Cities, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville and Memphis television viewing areas. The regional winners will compete for a statewide prize. The statewide winning video will air on television stations across the state beginning April 6th. The winning team will receive a 500-dollar Best Buy gift card from the Tennessee Road Builders Association, a set of Bridgestone tires and a spot in the 2009 Driver's Edge Teen Safe Driving Program.
