WBRY is Cannon County's Radio Station!

For the ownership and staff of AM 1540 this is more than a slogan. From coverage of local news to sports and events we are proud to be a part of our community.

This coverage comes with a price. For example, our cost of collecting and reporting news on the local level exceeds the revenue we receive in return, five to one! Traditionally radio revenues are retail-driven! In other words, most of radio advertising time is sold to retailers. Everyone knows that Woodbury is retail-challenged. This does not stop us from wanting to provide the people of Cannon County with the best radio station possible.

One of our staff members has been on the job everyday….

Our station's transmitter is original to the station. It has delivered countless hours of ball games, activities on the courthouse lawn, church services and more. We know that the station is important to our listeners. If we have a transmitter problem, our listeners call, stop by the station or even stop station personnel on the street wanting to know when "their" station will be back to full power. It was because of our listeners concerns that WBRY has developed our Adopt-A-Watt program.

WBRY presently operates at 1540AM with 500 watts of power. By adopting a watt (or watts) at the investment of $25.00 per watt, you can be assured that "your" radio station will be well on its way to a new transmitter. A new solid-state transmitter that will continue to provide great local coverage for all of Cannon County.

We do not need your money today, just your commitment!

If you want to "adopt" a watt, simply fill out the attached form and let us know you level of commitment. When we are ready to order the new transmitter we will notify you 30 days before we need your cash.
