Attempted Early Morning Break In Has Problems

Jun 30 2009

Two robbers were hoping to “pickup” a little extra cash early Monday morning at Parsley’s Market along the John Bragg Highway. Reports indicate, shortly after 1:00am, glass in the front door of the market was shattered when a pickup truck crashed into it. The would be robbers attached a line around the ATM in the store with the intent of pulling the money machine out of the building. However the vehicle was unable to accomplish the task, and the drive train was pulled out of the truck. The resulting noise drew the attention of vendors at the fireworks tent located on the property. When the bandits realized they had been spotted, they fled the scene.

According to Charlie Wilder, Chief Investigator of the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department. The truck was stolen from Tullahoma. The truck's owner lives in Warren County and has been interviewed. Some physical evidence was recovered from the truck and members of the department are working that. The matter is still under investigation and according to Wilder, they are actively working any leads.
