Reception Planned For Finalists In Director of Schools Search

Area residents are invited to meet the finalists in the search to fill the Director of Schools position for Cannon County. At Monday night’s meeting, the board and advisory committee narrowed the list of 8 to 3.

Dan Hampton, Barbara Parker, and Charles Edmonds will be at the Thursday night meeting.

Barbara Parker, former Director and Superintendent of the Cannon County School system. She is currently the NCLB Regional Coordinator for Middle Tennessee with the Tennessee Department of Education.

Dr. Charles Edmonds, a former appointed director of schools in Franklin County from 2004-2008.

Dan Hampton, currently the Director of High Schools for Williamson County.

The meeting is tonight (Thursday) at 6:00 p.m. at the Woodbury Grammar School.

The board and advisory committee will now meet July 6th, 7th and 8th to interview each of these candidates individually. These meetings are open to the public.
