Red Apple Days Returns This Weekend

Auburntown’s Red Apple Days and Homecoming is this Friday and Saturday, July 31st and August 1st. Music in the park, a 5k race down the road, games for the kids, a parade, catfish fry and more will keep Auburntown busy this week.

Friday’s activities will begin at the stage in C.S. Hawkins Park with an evening of gospel music starting at 5:00. Simply Forgiven, Cody Lee, True Heart, Men of Grace, Heart Song and Cedar City Quartet are scheduled to perform.

Saturday’s activities begin with the 5k race at 7:30am. A fun run will begin at 8:00am. Games for children will begin at 9:30am in C.S. Hawkins Park. The Red Apple Days Parade will be held at Noon. A variety of music from the stage begins at 1:00pm and will continue into the evening. Those scheduled to perform include; Screamin’ Jacks, The Late Comers, Mercy Creek, MisFits, 61 Seconds, JRB and Gilley Boys.

With Red Apple Days on the first Saturday of the month means catfish is only as far away as the community center. Auburntown Lions will have their monthly fish and shrimp fry from 9:00am until 7:00pm.

Members of the Auburntown Historical Society will have their newest publication, Treasured Memories and Recollections for sale to the public.

Vendors will have booths in and around the park. Many residents schedule their yard sales in conjunction with Red Apple Days.

Many of the activities from the stage will air on WBRY AM 1540 / FM 96.7 on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
