Sheriff Candidate Says He Was Threatened

Monday, 2 August 2010

Sheriff candidate Jack Miller had some unwanted mail at his Readyville residence this weekend. Miller told WSMV that a note at his mailbox threatened him if he were elected sheriff in this week’s county general election. The note described a death threat.

Miller lives along the Cannon-Rutherford County line and filed a report with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department today. Department spokesperson Andy Bryson told WBRY that as of late Monday afternoon, Miller has not filed a report with the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department.

WSMV also reported that Miller was charged with public intoxication in Coffee County over the weekend.
