
Cannon County Woman Dies In Hwy 70 Traffic Crash
A traffic crash resulted in the death of a Cannon County woman Wednesday morning. Teresa M. Satchell died from injuries in a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 70 (McMinnville Highway).
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol report, the Satchell vehicle, a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria was east bound on Highway 70. The second vehicle, a 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup driven by Edward H. Hoskins, Jr. was traveling west on Highway 70. The Satchell vehicle entered into a curve, while leaving the curve lost control on the wet roadway and entered into the west bound lanes of the highway. The Hoskins vehicle struck the Satchell vehicle in the right passenger door.
Teresa M. Satchell, 46, was a resident of Powell Street. Edward H. Hoskins, Jr., 46, was injuried in the crash. He is a resident of Valley Drive. Both drivers were using safety belts.
Trooper Ronnie Simmons, Lt. Randy Maynard and Trooper Gary Myers of the Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated. The THP was assisted at the scene by members of the Cannon County Sheriffs Department, Cannon County Rescue Squad and Cannon County Emergency Medical Service.
The crash occurred at 7:40am.
