Bradyville Man Faces Charges Following Chase

Thursday 31 January 2008A Bradyville man is in hot water after allegedly leading Cannon County deputies on a chase that ended in Coffee County. Clayton Cochren age 18 of McMahon Road was arrested by the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department and charged with felony evading arrest resisting arrest felony vandalism driving on a suspended license and reckless endangerment after he allegedly fled from deputies who were attempting to stop his vehicle. Deputy Reed Bryson responded to a call from the hospital that Cochren had busted out a window. Staff at the emergency room gave a description of Cochren’s vehicle and deputies then began searching for it. After deputy John Fesmire located the vehicle he attempted to initiate a traffic stop. It was at that point that Cochren allegedly sped up and began to flee from the officer. The pursuit reached speeds of well over 80 miles per hour and went several miles into Coffee County. It finally ended at Mars’ Market in Coffee County. When deputies approached the vehicle Cochren allegedly became combative and began arguing with the officers. As they attempted to take him into custody he reportedly began fighting with them. Officer’s finally got Cochren into custody and transported him to the jail without incident. Cochren is currently free on $8 500.00 bond and will appear before General Sessions Judge Susan Melton on March 4th.
