Cannon Country Christmas Returns This Weekend

Signs of the season are starting to appear around Cannon County this week. Holiday displays in businesses, a few Christmas trees are popping up and this weekend brings the return of Cannon Country Christmas.

On Friday, November 21st Santa is scheduled to arrive at the Cannon County Courthouse. The lighting of the Christmas tree in the square will follow. From 6:00pm until 8:00pm Santa will be available for photos at the Sweet Tooth Station. Shops around the square and across town will be open until 8:00pm. Many of the participating merchants will provide refreshments in addition to special holiday prices.

On Saturday, November 22nd, the Push, Pedal or Pull Children’s Parade will be held on the courthouse square at 1:00pm. The event is for children age 7 and younger. Santa will serve as grand marshall of the children-only parade. The Woodbury Lions Club will hold their second Diabetes Walk and everyone is invited to attend. The walk will begin on the courthouse square and continue to Brown-Spurlock Park. After making the circle on the new walking track, the route will return to the courthouse square.

The Parade of Trees will debut again with Cannon Country Christmas. The location has changed for this year. The showroom of Jennings Motors on the square will be home for the trees. The event is a fundraiser for the Historic Cannon County Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free to see the trees, however if you want to vote for a favorite tree a ticket must be purchased.
