Cannon County Christmas Ornaments Are Here!

The 2008 Woodbury Lions Club Christmas Ornaments have arrived! This year’s ornament features the Readyville Mill and is the second in a series of limited edition Christmas ornaments from the Woodbury Lions Club. All proceeds help save the eyesight of children through the Tennessee Lions Eye Center at Vanderbilt and Operation Kid Sight Outreach Program. The Readyville Mill, built in 1878, is on the National Historic Register. The current Mill replaced the original, which was built in 1812 but destroyed by fire around the Civil War.

The first shipment of ornaments is being distributed to those who placed advance orders. All remaining ornaments will be distributed to Lions Club Members and local businesses to sell. The first locations that will have ornaments available for sale this year are First Bank, Jennings Jewelers, and Debbie Morris’ Office at the Cannon Courthouse. Other locations will have them available as well. A second and final shipment is expected in mid-December.

The cost of the beautiful 24K gold flashed-brass collectible is only $5 each, making them great Christmas gifts. The inaugural ornament that featured the Cannon County Courthouse sold out in only a few weeks.

Lions Club members are in the final days of their annual nut sale. Club members are reporting that some of the numerous locations are starting to sell out of their stock.
