Sunday 31 August 2008Chancellor Robert E. Corlew III presided over the latest session of Cannon County Circuit Court. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included: Ricky Lester pled guilty to the charge of driving while being a habitual motor vehicle offender. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison as a range 1 30 percent offender. A suspended sentence hearing was also schedule for October 10th. John Smith’s motion to waive fees was granted by the Court. Johnny Whittemore entered a best interest plea to the charge of criminal attempt to commit the offense of conspiracy. He sentenced to 11 months 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on supervised probation and paying a portion of the court costs. Whittemore’s probation fees were waived by Chancellor Corlew.
