Changing Of Officers In Chamber of Commerce

The Historic Cannon County Chamber of Commerce reviewed work of the past year and took steps to move forward this year at the annual membership banquet. The annual event marks the changing of terms for officers and board members. County Executive Mike Gannon gave an update and answered questions about the courthouse square project. Gannon believes the project will be finished in time for spring events in downtown Woodbury this year.
Out-going President Doug Combs recognized the board members who are rotating off the board. Amy Parker and Jason Melton for three year terms. Bryan Francis and Connie Rigsby for six year terms. In addition to serving on the board, Rigsby held terms as treasurer, vice-president and president of the chamber.
In-coming officers for the chamber this year include; Travis Hancock of Woodbury Insurance Agency serving as president, Michelle Fowler of Stones River Hospital is vice-president and Mindy Gunter of FirstBank is treasurer.
Incoming board members include; Jacque Head (Cannon County Senior Center), Ron Fryar (Cannon Courier), Jeanne Melton (First National Bank), Glenn Steakley (Crane Interiors) and Regina Reed (Gina’s Boutique).
They will join current board members; Terry Bogle (DTC Communications), Rick McFerrin (McFerrin Printing), Anita Parton (Tri-Star Title Company), Anna Pittman (Fine Swine BBQ), Cliff Swoape (Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District), Michael Vaughn (Old Feed Store Antique Mall) and Doug Combs (WBRY AM/FM).
This year’s banquet was held at the Cannon Senior Center on Lehman Street.
