Circuit Court Hears Pleas From Grand Jury

Friday 26 October 2007The defendant’s indicted by the September 2007 term of the Cannon County Grand Jury appeared in Circuit Court Friday to enter formal pleas to their charges. Those persons who pled guilty during Friday’s session included: Lonnie Burnett pled guilty to the charge of reckless endangerment. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison as a range 1 30 percent offender. A suspended sentence hearing is set for December 14th. Jessica R. Boles pled guilty to the charge of burglary. She was sentenced to 2 years in prison as a range 1 30 percent offender. She was ordered to serve her entire sentence. Richard Cathey pled guilty to the charge of theft over $500.00. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison as a range 1 30 percent offender. A suspended sentence hearing is set for December 14th. Raymond Vandagriff pled guilty to the charge of burglary. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison as a range 1 30 percent offender. A suspended sentence hearing is scheduled for December 14th. Terry Johnson pled guilty to the charge of criminal attempt to sell a schedule two drug. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison as a range 1 30 percent offender. In addition he was ordered to pay a $2 000.00 fine and the court costs. A suspended sentence hearing is set for December 14th. Nathan Jennings pled guilty to the charge of five counts of forgery. He was sentenced to a total of 9 years in prison. A suspended sentence hearing is scheduled for December 14th. Judy Hickey pled guilty to criminal attempt to commit forgery under $1 000.00. She was placed on judicial diversion and state supervised probation for 11 months 29 days ordered to pay the court costs and ordered to pay restitution. Those defendants who did not plea guilty will have their cases tried by juries during the next several months.
