Wednesday 28 November 2007That was not thunder many of us have heard the past few days. Construction to make way for one of the county’s newest businesses is underway. The site is located just outside of the Woodbury town limits along the John Bragg Highway. The property is across from the Art Center of Cannon County and will be the home of a ready-mix plant. The early stages of construction require the removal of some dirt and a lot of rock. The “thunder” many of us heard have been explosive charges to unearth the rock. Jason Wells the operator of Coffee County Ready Mix in Manchester and Bedford County Ready Mix in Shelbyville will be opening his third concrete plant here. Citing the potential for growth was one of the reasons for the site location. An opening for the plant could come as early as spring of 2008.
