Dekalb Knocks Down The Door At Cannon With Three Point Shots

For the third consecutive season the Dekalb County Tigerettes won at least one of the games in the season series against their rival Cannon County.  Friday night before a packed house in Woodbury, the Tigerettes put the exclamation on the first game between the two teams this year with a 70-40 win over the Lionettes.  It was the biggest margin victory in over a decade.  Dekalb knocked down 14 three point shots in sending the Lionettes to their third district loss of the season.  Lionettes hit only one of ten attempts from behind the three point arc. Maleah Scott led the Lionettes with 9 points.   The three point assault would continue in the boys game with Dekalb connecting on 7 three pointers.  The Tigers would build a lead of up to 25 points in the third quarter before Cannon stormed back to get as close as 6.  Brandon Miles however fouled out of the game and the Lions suffered from losing his momentum Miles scored 17 to lead the Lions including 9 points in the second half.  Cannon lost to their next door neighbor 58-47.  Both teams are now 2-7 on the year.
