Former Vols Coach to Remain at the University of Tennessee

Former University of Tennessee Vols head coach Philip Fulmer will remain at his alma mater for the time being. He has accepted a three-month job as an assistant to UT President John Petersen, for which he’ll be paid 12-thousand-500-dollars per month. A university spokeswoman says the money will come from unspecified “private sources.” Fulmer will also receive standard, full-time employee benefits. His duties will include enhancing and developing strategic relationships. Fulmer announced last month that he wouldn’t return next year as the Vols head coach. UT finished the five-and-seven on the season and three-and-five in conference play. He was replaced by former Oakland Raiders Coach Lane Kiffin.
