The Cannon County Lions football banquet was held last night in the fellowship hall of Woodbury’s First Baptist Church. Several awards and the all district 8-AA teams were announced Second Team All District as voted on by the coaches of the district: Thomas Stone, Patrick Gerdes, Tyler Jacobs, Jared Melton First Team All District-Daniel Woodin, Gabe Walkup, Andy Agee, Bryant Hare, Cesar Wilson, Damon Collette, Superlatives (MVP’s) Tight End-Heath Simon, Defensive Back-Andrew Woodin and Defensive Line Emby Mills.
Co-Offensive MVP Quarterback Lee Cooper Offensive Assistant Coach-Eddie Cunningham and The District 8-AA Coach Of The Year-Joel Schrenk.
The Team Awards as determined by the Cannon County Coaching staff: Best Defensive Back Andrew Woodin, Best Linebacker-Bryant Hare, Best Defensive Lineman-Patrick Gerdes and Tyler Jacobs.
The Hustle award went to Gabe Walkup Offensive Back/Reciever-Lee Cooper Offensive Lineman-Jared Melton, Ceasar Wilson Overall Lineman-Emby Mills Top Of The Line-Daniel Woodin and Sportsmanship Award-Dylan Light.
Permanent Team Captains for the year were recognized Emby Mills, Bryant Hare, Daniel Woodin and Andrew Woodin are the captains of the 2009 season.
