Lions Hosting Owls In Basketball Tonight

The Cannon County High School basketball teams will be looking for their first district win of the season.  After a rough start in Baxter Friday, the teams will be hosting the Owls teams from Smith County High School.  Smith County Lady Owls come into Robert A Harris Gymnasium with a 4-1 overall record.  After starting the season by beating Lionettes and Lady Owls former head coach Michael Dodgen and his White County Lady Warriors, the Lady Owls were able to use that to start building a four game winning streak.  However their first district contest last Friday also ended in a close loss to Livingston 40-37.  The Owls boys team are 3-2 but won their part of the district contest against Livingston 63-46.  The Lionettes and Lions are both 0-1 in district play.  Lionettes are 2-4 overall while the Lions are 1-5.  Tonight’s game in Woodbury tips off at 6:00.  The game will be live on AM-1540/FM107.1 WBRY and streaming online at wbry.com
