Lions Prepared To Bring Holiday Cheer This Saturday

Woodbury Lions Club members are preparing for a full day of activities this Saturday. Pancakes, a parade and the spreading of holiday cheer are the order of the day according to King Lion Danny Miller.

Club members will be in the Lions Memorial Building before the sun rises to prepare for Breakfast with Santa. The jolly old elf will be available to visit and have photos with children of all age). Lions will be serving their (all you care to eat) pancake breakfast with all the trimmings. Hours are from 7:00am until 10:00am. Photos with Santa will be made from 8:00am until 10:00am.

Entries for this year’s Woodbury Lions Christmas Parade will assemble in the Edgefield area. Units should arrive in the area of Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation office (corner of Main and Adams Streets) by 11:00am. The assembly point will extend from the MTEMC office down Adams Street, onto Lehman Street and into the parking lot of the fairgrounds.

The parade will begin at noon, and will continue along the traditional route down Main Street to the intersection of South McCrary Street. Reports from the Chamber of Commerce indicate a large number of entries are expected.

This year’s Tour of Homes will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm Saturday. Members of the community open their homes for visitors to view as they are decorated for the holidays. The 2009 tour includes the Paschal Farms barn, Junior Brandon’s cabin, the Readyville Mill (owned by Thom Brady), and the homes of Mike and Pat Wienland, David and Sharon White, Brad and Laurie Smithson, Raycell Wiberly, Donald and Cortilla Fann and Cathy Crabtree. Tickets and maps will be available at the Lions Club building Saturday beginning at 4:00pm.

Over 100 persons in the community are members of the Woodbury Lions Club. The club is one of the largest in Tennessee.
