Man Threatens To Walk To Woodbury To Burn House

A Cannon County man who allegedly stated he was going to walk to Woodbury to burn his girlfriends house down was arrested in Murfreesboro over the weekend.  According to Murfreesboro Police Reports, Police were dispatched to Bradyville Pike and Minerva Drive in reference to a white male later identified as 31 year old Kenneth Davenport of Sycamore Creek Road.  Davenport was being verbally abusive toward other citizens.  Dispatch advised the officer that the original complainant stated that Davenport offered her Xanax pills and told her he was en route to burn his girlfriend’s house down.  After talking with Davenport, he admitted to taking three of his Xanax pills and because Mr. Davenport was a danger to himself and others he was arrested for public intoxication, transported and booked into the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department.  While inside of a cell, Davenport pulled a needle out of his sock and injected it into his left arm.  Davenport was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and bringing contraband into a penal institution.  Davenport will answer to the charges in Rutherford County General Sessions Court March 16th.
