McCall Announces Run For State Representative

Tuesday 1 April 2008 Albert McCall II announced that he will be a candidate for the Tennessee House of Representatives District 46. House District 46 includes Cannon County Trousdale County and the Eastern part of Wilson County. McCall said he is running for State Representative “to represent the common sense values of the voters in the 46th district.” He stated that he is “adamantly opposed to a state income tax and committed to strong enforcement of illegal immigrant laws.” McCall also commented that “this nation and state were founded on the principles of limited government personal responsibility and the protection of individual freedoms. I want to take these principles to Nashville and truly represent the values of the people of the 46th district.” McCall was born in Smith County to Albert and Virginia McCall. He attended high school at Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon. After high school McCall earned a Bachelors degree in Engineering and then his law degree from St Mary’s University. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1987. McCall served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a commissioned as an officer in 1982. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves until 1990 as a Military Intelligence officer. McCall practiced law before joining the family owned business that was founded by his grandfather D.T. McCall. The furniture appliance lawn and garden and electronics retailer founded in the 1920’s has grown from one store in Carthage to four stores located throughout Middle Tennessee. He started as a partner and department manager at D.T.McCall and Sons and now serves as CEO of the company. Albert and his wife of 21 years Beth a Registered Nurse live with their family on a farm in Eastern Wilson County. They have two children Alex a student at Union University and Kate a student at Friendship Christian School. The family attends and are members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon.
