April 2018 Events

April 4: Auburn Elementary Schools will host a Red Cross Blood Drive from 2p-7p in the gym.  Email cindy.larson@ccstn.net or call 615-464-4342.  Everyone is welcome to participate.
 
April 7: Singing at Gilley Hill Cemetery Community Center featuring Leon Burks and Friends.  6:00pm-9:00pm  The center recently underwent renovations and is now available for rent.  For additional information contact; Terry Burks 615-849-6297, Wilma Spry 615-765-5429 and Bettye Harris 615-765-7241.
 
April 14: Run of the Tigers, East Side School, 8:00am  Fun run and 5k is scheduled.
April 14: Regular monthly meeting of Cannon County Commission.  Meeting will be in the courtroom at Cannon County Courthouse.  Public is welcome.
April 14: A benefit is scheduled for Donald Stacey at Woodland School. Auction will be held at 4:00pm, donations are welcome.  Other activities at 6:30pm.  For more information call 615-561-3075.
April14:The DeKalb/Cannon County Amateur Radio Club is sponsoring an Amateur Radio Exam Session on Saturday, April 14th , 2018  - 1:00 PM (Walk-ins are welcome) at the Cannon County High School - Room # 115, 1 Lion Drive, Woodbury TN 37190-5240.  Contact Jeffrey Kemper - KV4VV at  (615) 364-3913 or check out the club's website at http://www.dccarc.org if anyone has any questions.
Amateur Radio Operators also called “hams” communicate with other operators in the local area, statewide, nationally, and even worldwide.  Hams also aid during times of emergencies with vital communication links.  The DeKalb/Cannon County Amateur Radio Club is an affiliated club of the American Radio Relay League.

April 18: PARQ (Preserve our Area’s Rural Qualities) has scheduled the quarterly meeting for Wednesday April 18, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.
Location of the meeting is 1860 Readyville Street, Readyville TN 37149. (Small cabin behind main house.)

April 21: The Woodbury FFA continues their annual plant sale.  This is a good opportunity to pick up some plants for spring and help support Cannon County High School students.  Hours of operation at 6:30am - Noon at the high school. For more information call 615-563-4875.
April 24: The Cannon County Health Department and Community Health Center will hold an Open House from 1:30pm - 3:30pm.  The new facility is located at 106 Alexander Drive. (near Stones River Medical Center) The public is encourged to attend.
April 26: A meeting of the DeKalb/Cannon County Amateur Radio Club will be held on Thursday, April 26th , 2018  - 6:30 PM at the Cannon County High School, 1 Lion Drive - Room 115, Woodbury, TN 37190. All local amateur radio operators and those interested in amateur radio are invited to attend. 
April 28: Cannon County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Cruise-In on the Square in Woodbury. Hours are 4:00pm - 7:30pm.  All cars, trucks and unique vehicles are welcome. For more information call 615-563-2222.
