5 precincts with a total of 8 polling places across the county will be open today for the Special Called Election of the 17th District Tennessee Senate Seat. The polls will be open from 7A to 7P. The race is between Republican Mark Pody and Democrat Mary Alice Carfi. Both are seeking to fill the seat vacated by Mae Beavers who is running next year for the Governor of Tennessee.
