The final of four district contests of the 2017 year takes place tonight in Woodbury as the Cannon County Lions and Lionettes hoops team, meets the York Institute Dragons and Dragonettes from Jamestown. Lionettes are looking to rebound after a disappointing 0-3 start in District play with the last being a runaway game from Dekalb. York comes in with confidence winning two in a row and one of those being a nine point victory last Tuesday against the Tigerettes. The Lions are 1-2 in District play. They have been competitive in all three of their contests with the latest a 9 point loss to Dekalb. York is a perfect 3-0 and sits atop the early standings but just got by new District 8-AA member Watertown by two on Friday. Games will be played tonight at Robert A Harris Gymnasium with the tipoff slated at 6:00.
