The Cannon County Lions football team are on the road to Baxter tonight a little short handed. Defensive starters Dalton Morris and Reece Smith are out of tonight’s action as both sustained concussions during last week’s loss to a physically aggressive York team. Two other players have been suspended due to disciplinary reasons, one from an ejection last week. Alex Clark is also out for the year with a broken ankle and a couple of other team members having ailing injuries that might keep them out come game time. Even though the team may be short handed, they have an opportunity to beat their opponent in Upperman tonight. Upperman has struggled with a 2-3 record as they look to finish the second half of the season with 5 region games in a row. After getting soundly beat against Cookeville, the Bees collected wins against Monterey and last week’s come from behind win against region opponent Grundy County 13-12.
The Lions will have to keep their composure as Upperman is another aggressive physical team
