Lace up your sneakers September 17, 2016 for the 4th Annual Rutherford Romp, a 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run presented by F&M Bank. Join other runners and walkers and leave your “footprint” by helping charities whose missions are focused in Rutherford and Cannon Counties
Race proceeds will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Rutherford County, Amelia’s Closet, Murfreesboro Rescue Mission, and Second Harvest Food Bank. The Rutherford Romp Foundation is partnering with the Murfreesboro Young Professionals for this event. Proceeds from the Murfreesboro Young Professional’s Ice Cream Bowl will benefit United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties. Their missions are local, critical, and affect the lives of thousands of Rutherford County residents every year.
Race registration is now open online at www.rutherfordromp.com and this year’s course begins at the historic Oaklands Mansion and winds through downtown Murfreesboro.
“This race is an annual tradition for many, and we love how it brings our community together to run, walk, and make a lasting impact,” said Shannon Wheeler, Race Director.
A $100 cash prize will be given to the top overall male and female runners. The top three runners in each male/female age division will be recognized and everyone will receive a participant medal. At the finish line, race participants, as well as their friends and family, can take advantage of a tasty partnership with Murfreesboro Young Professional’s 2nd Annual Ice Cream Bowl.
