The Cannon County American Cancer Society’s mid season Cancer basketball tournament got underway Monday night at the Woodbury Grammar School. The Westside Lady Eagles advanced to the semifinals beating Short Mountain. They will play second seeded Auburntown Thursday. In the other girls bracket the Woodbury Grammar School Lady Cubs handed the Eastside Lady Eagles a loss to advance to the next round. They will face the undefeated Woodland Lady Warriors on Thursday. In the boys division third seeded Woodland beat sixth seeded Eastside to move into the semifinals where they will meet Woodbury Grammar School. Short Mountain beat Auburntown in the quarterfinals Monday night to advance to meet the number one seed Westside Eagles of the tournament. All games Thursday will be played at the Woodbury Grammar School.
