The Hour is drawing ever nearer for the Cannon County Budget Committee tomake a recommendation to the full Cannon County Commissioners. The new
budget that is proposed to the Commissioners carries a 25 cent proposed
property tax increase with it to help fund the budget. The meeting will
take place Saturday at 10:00 in the courtroom of the Cannon County
Courthouse. Other items on the agenda, include filling a vacancy on the
Industrial Board. Going over resolution 2011-2012 to contract with the
Upper Cumberland Development District to provide local planning advisory
services. Resolution 2011-4 Establishment of An Audit Committe and
Resolution 2011-1 which would remove law enforcement powers of the office
of constable in Cannon County. The meeting will take place Saturday at
10:00 in the courtroom of the Cannon County Courthouse
The Cannon County Board of Education will reconvene their recessed meeting
of July 7 immediately after the County Commission’s meeting on July 16 in
the Board Room of the Central Office. There are two things on the agenda:
Finishing formulation of a budget, and dealing with rezoning of some
students
