Cannon County General Sessions Court Activity

Judge Susan Melton presided over the latest session of Cannon County General Sessions Court this week. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

Jason A. Couch was bound over to the January, 2008 term of the Cannon County Grand Jury. He is charged with driving under the influence 3rd offense, violation of the implied consent law and driving on a revoked license.

Gary Norwood pled guilty to the charge of domestic assault. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation and paying the court costs.

Amy Glass pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 30 days in jail and her probation was extended.

David M. Hill pled guilty to the charge of driving on a suspended license. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail and ordered to serve his entire sentence.

Daniel Offutt pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to serve 30 days in jail.

Kenneth Clay pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to serve 160 days in jail.

James Richardson pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was revoked and he was ordered to serve his entire sentence.

Christopher Lanier pled guilty to the charge of domestic assault. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, serving 60 days in jail and paying the court costs.

Derrick Merritt pled guilty to the charge of driving on a suspended license. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $50.00 fine and paying the court costs.

Eugenio Hernandez pled guilty to the charge of driving on a suspended license. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $50.00 fine and paying the court costs.

William Gaddis pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to serve 30 days in jail.

Gary Haley pled guilty to the charge of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on supervised probation, serving 45 days in jail, paying a $350.00 fine and paying the court costs. In addition, he will lose his license for 1 year.

Jane Stroupe pled guilty to the charge of driving on a suspended license. She was sentenced to 6 months in jail. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $50.00 fine and paying the court costs.

Francisco Susteugi pled guilty to the charge of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on supervised probation, serving 48 hours in jail, paying a $350.00 fine and paying the court costs. In addition, he will lose his license for 1 year.

Jackie Gipson pled guilty to the charge of passing a worthless check. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying the court costs and paying the checks and service charges.

Shannon Hillis pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. Her probation was extended and she was ordered to serve 3 days in jail.

Richard Hodge pled guilty to the charge of criminal impersonation. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying the court costs and serving 60 days in jail.

Joseph Roach pled guilty to the charge of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on supervised probation, serving 14 days in jail, paying a $350.00 fine and paying the court costs. In addition, he will lose his license for 1 year.

Camren Deffendoll pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to serve 30 days in jail.

Samuel Stang pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to serve 30 days in jail.

Brady Cunningham pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to pay the court costs.

Mitchell Denny pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to serve 14 days in jail.

David Petty pled guilty to the charge of criminal attempt to commit the offense of theft over $500.00. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, serving 47 days in jail and paying the court costs.
