Robert Lee “Bobby” Womack, 71, of Woodbury passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Horizon Health and Rehab in Manchester. He was a native of Cannon Co. He was the son of the Aubrey Lee Womack and Mahalia Alexander Womack.
He is survived by his sons, Robert T. Womack and Benjamin D. Womack both of Murfreesboro; his sister, Charolene W. Burton (Isiah) of Bowling Green, KY.; his nephews, Richard C. Cunningham, Christopher (Missy) Cunningham and Charles C. (Denise) Cunningham; his nieces, Jessica and Halie Cunningham, Lauren T. (Joseph) Gomez, and Alex K. Broce.
A member of the Woodbury Church of Christ, Bobby was a retired Tool and Dye maker at Chromalox,. He loved to water ski, play golf, and softball. He was on the Mel Adams softball team that won the world championship in Atlanta.
Funeral Services will be 4 pm Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Gardens Cemetery. George James Whittle
George James Whittle, age 71, of Bradyville passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. Thomas Stones River E/R. He was a native of Erlangen, Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Bowman Whittle of Bradyville; Son, George James Whittle II of Nanticoke, PA; Grandchildren, Parker James Sears of White House & Alex Avery of Nanticoke, PA; Father- & Mother-in-law, Keith & Anita Bowman; and Brothers- & Sisters-in-law, Charlie (Cynthia) Bowman, Bill Bowman, & Pam (Michael) O’Hara.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Maria Breitenlohner Hoffman; Daughter, Angelina Diane Whittle Sears; and Sister, Wilhemina Deitzen.
Mr. Whittle was a school teacher, principal, & coached almost every sport including baseball, basketball, tennis, track, & football. He was an all-state coach for basketball, baseball, football, & track in Alabama and was the state champion for badminton. Mr. Whittle was a true athlete in every sense of the word.
Memorial Services will be 6 PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at Midway Church of Christ with Bro. Charlie Bowman & Bro. Bryan Pitts officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 6 PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at Midway Church of Christ.

Darlene Wilson Vance
Ms. Darlene Wilson Vance, age 58, of Woodbury passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. Thomas West Hospital. She was a native of Davidson Co.
Survivors include her daughter, Alysia & Bryan Pitts of Woodbury; Grandchildren, Gunter & Hannah Pitts of Woodbury; and Siblings, Brenda Dowdy of Mississippi, Connie Hulse of Dickson, Arlene Littion of Dickson, & Rex Wilson of Nashville.
Several nieces & nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice & Margaret Sue Christy Wilson; and Brother, Maverick Wilson.
Ms. Vance was a member of the Midway Church of Christ and worked in Maintenance at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her animals.

Mallie Lynette Elkins Bryson
Mallie Lynette “Judy” Elkins Bryson, age 90, of Woodbury passed away peacefully Sunday, April 28, 2019. She was born and lived her entire life in Cannon County raising her seven children along with her husband, William Allen Bryson, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 12, 2009, She was 90 years old. Her worldview was uncomplicated; Love God, Love People, no exceptions.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father & mother, Raymond & Virgie Elkins along with eight of her nine siblings, as well as a son-in-law, Larry Reeves.
She is survived by one sister, Shirley (Johnny) Bryson of Woodbury; and her children, Bill (Joan) Bryson of Lebanon, Michael (Geraldine) Bryson of Woodbury, MeLinda (Wade) Simmons of Manchester, Terry (Rita) Bryson of Readyville, Sharon Reeves of Murfreesboro, Robert (Debra) Bryson of Woodbury & Michelle (Alan) Hale of Rockwall, TX. Her 16 grandchildren are Matt Bryson, Marti Leftwich, Candy Jones, Michael Bryson, Paula Bryson, Joseph Bryson, Stephen Simmons, Stephanie Moraes, Seth Simmons, Nathan Bryson, Brooke Vanderbent, Samantha Rosas, Mary Reeves, Chip Bryson, Jonathan Bryson, & Jacob Bryson. In addition, Mrs. Bryson has 37 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Margie Sue Nichols Jennings, 60 passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 suddenly at her home in Woodbury. She was born in Rutherford Co., TN.
She is survived by her mother, Ailene Tenpenny Nichols of Woodbury; her children, Cindy (Tim) Hensley and Wendy Freeze all of Woodbury, Christopher (Sharon) Thomas of Athens, AL.; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Howse, Austin Adamson, Alexis and Aubrey Hensley, Faith, Alyssa and Chris Kilgore, Christopher, Jessica and Candice Thomas and her sister, Judy Basham of Woodbury. 8 great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Nichols and brother, Carl Wayne Nichols.
Margie was a member of the Baptist Church and was the biscuit maker at McDonald’s. She loved cross stitch and reading books but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Jonathan Harold Melton, Sr., age 49, of Woodbury passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at his home. He was a native of Cannon Co.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Sonya Brewer Melton of Woodbury; Children, Jonathan Harold Melton, Jr. & Jennifer Melton, both of Woodbury; Mother, Hazel Carol Melton of Woodbury; Father-in-law, Ronnie (Teresa) Brewer of Bradyville; Sister-in-law, Sandy Bell of Murfreesboro; Aunts, Macon Melton & Judy Bogle, both of Woodbury; and Nieces & Nephews, Amber Ashford, Jonathan Brewer, Kammie Brewer, Sloan Reed, Landon Reed, Brayden Reed, & Greer Bell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Melton.
Mr. Melton was a tool & die maker at Quality Industries and enjoyed spending his time at tractor pulls & fishing.

Barton Lee Jones, 55, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at his home in Woodbury. He was a native of Davidson Co.
He is survived by wife, Carie Jones of Woodbury; parents, William Charles Jones, Sr. and Jennie Mae Jones; children, Brittany (Eric) de Leon of Murfreesboro, Brandon Jones of Antioch, Anna Maria (Brant) Boner of Bartlett, Tisha (Joe) Wallace and Kara (William) Hunter both of Chapel Hill, Cyrus (Amy) Kavari of Nashville and Kyle Balduf of Smyrna; siblings, William Charles (Sue) Jones, Jr. of Nolensville and Janet Walls of Brentwood. He had 16 grandchildren including 2 natural born grandchildren, Peyton and Hayden de Leon.
He was preceded in death by his step-son, Kevin Balduf.
A member of the Haywood Hills Baptist church, Bart worked for Ingram in the IT dept for 20 years and most recently was the manager of Leslie’s Pools. He enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening and going to the mountains.

Glenda Kay Harrell, 68, passed away Thursday, April 11th, 2019 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. She was a native of Cannon Co.
She is survived by her father, Howard Reed of Woodbury; daughter, Leslie Ann Haley (Phillip Thompson) of Woodbury; grandchildren, Brett Lee Markum (Amber), Timothy Cole Haley (Julia) and Sky Desiree Haley (Jace Thomas); siblings, Bobby Reed and Linda Reed both of Woodbury and her uncle, Ralph (Betty) Reed of Woodbury.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Louise Rains Reed.
Glenda was a member of the McMahan Church of Christ and was retired from Federal Mogul.

James Elmer Bugg
James “Jimmy” Elmer Bugg, 78, passed away April 12, 2019 surrounded by his daughters at his home in the Hollis Creek Community. He was the son of the late Dayton & Dorothy Richardson Bugg.
Jimmy was born July 6, 1940 and was married to the late Joyce Reed Bugg for 55 years. Jimmy and Joyce lived in the Hollis Creek Community where he farmed raising various crops and beef cattle. Jimmy was a member of the Sunny Slope Church of Christ where he faithfully served the Lord for 59 years. His most prized titles in life were Christian, Husband, Daddy, Papa and Farmer; he carried them all with great pride.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Odle of Woodbury and Sandra (Alan) Whitesell of Readyville; grandchildren, Joshua Haley (Whitney Williams), Stephen Haley (Lacey Williams), and Ryan (Emily) Haley, Brandon Campbell (Cailynn Cawthon), and MacKenzie (Alan) Lack; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Odle (Tanya Parker) and Nathan (Terrilyn) Odle; great-grandchildren, Emerson Kate Lack, Rhett Lack, and Braelynn Campbell; brother, David (Carolyn) Bugg of Dandridge, TN.; sister-in-law, Annette Reed of Readyville. niece, Tabitha (Greg) Jenkins; nephews, Nathan Bugg, Marlon Reed, Keith Reed, and James Reed; great nephew, Andrew Jenkins and great nieces, Graci and Isabella Reed.
Jimmy will be met at Heaven’s gate by his wife, Joyce Reed Bugg: Great-grandson: Cason Alan Lack and favorite Aunts: Fannie (Richardson) Casey and Ida (Bugg) Overton.
Jimmy was known for being a hard worker, his ability to tell a good story, a quick sense of humor and for lending a helping hand whenever needed.
He will be greatly missed by his family, close friends, church family, and neighbors.

Mollie “Lucile” Barrett, 89, of Fayetteville, Tn. Passed away Thursday at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tn.
Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Lexie Finley; husband of 56 years, James Barrett; Sisters, Whyte Hudgins and Cledie Miller; brothers, Mack, Tom, Charlie, Delaney and Fred Finley; and beloved special niece, Patricia Mannon.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Tom) Corwin of Knoxville, Tn and Kathy Patterson of Fayetteville, Tn.; grandchildren, Chris Corwin of Knoxville, Tn., Jill (Corey) King of Fayetteville, Kim (Brooks) Nicely of Aiken, South Carolina, Tommy (Trish) Corwin of Sevierville, Tn.; 10 great grandchildren, Princeton (McKenzie) Taylor, Josh (Michal) Taylor, Travis Taylor, Mickey Jordan, Paige Corwin, Shelby, Tristan and Riley Nisbet, Zach and Jon Corwin; 5 great great grandchildren, Aubrie, Neyland and Bella Taylor, Amara and Lawrence Corwin, Madeline and Amelia Taylor; Sisters-in-law, Bess Finley of Readyville and Lola Barrett of McMinnville; Nephew, Buddy Alexander and long time childhood friend, Roy Rains. Mrs. Barrett was retired from the family owned business, Bill’s Liquor Store. She was a long time member and officer of the American Legion and VFW Auxillary.
