In Cannon County Sports. Last Thursday the Cannon County Lionette Volleyball team traveled to Carthage for a couple of district contests.
In the first set of matches the Upperman Lady Bees swept the Lionettes
25-17 in the first set 25-21 in the second set. Rebekah and Hannah
Faulkner served up aces during the contests and Ariana Kalliponi and
Paulani Tarawa provided kills in the losing effort. The night wasn’t
finished for the team as they played a set of matches against Smith
County. Smith controlled the matches sweeping in two sets 25-10 in set 1
and 25-12 in set 2 Marion Wallace scored on an ace while Cannon scored
some points based on kills from Rebekah Faulkner and Paulani Tarawa.
The Cannon County Volleyball Team is still looking for their first win and
will host Van Buren County at Robert A Harris Gym today. JV starts at
5:00 while the varsity plays at 6. The Cannon County Girls Soccer Team
will also play today at Fred Schwartz Field at Cannon County High School
when they welcome Jackson County for a 6:00 game.
