Glenda Faye Reed Mears, Age 70 was born August 29, 1954 and passed away June 4, 2025 due to health complications. She was a member of Unity Church of Christ and a bible school teacher for 40 years.
She was the daughter of the late John William Reed and Alene Preston Reed of Woodbury. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother, William Darnell (Billy) Reed and a sister, Brenda Nell Reed. She was also proceeded in death by her father in-law, Thomas Jefferson (Jeff) Mears, mother in-law, Ollie Pauline (Durham) Mears; brothers- in-law, Thomas Ray Mears Sr, Charles Marvin Mears, Bob Hoover. Half brothers in-law, Carmon Mears, half sister in-law, Daisy Bailey; sisters- in-law, Edna Young, Joyce Davis, Anita Reed, Margarett Tramel and Patricia Reed.
She survived by husband of over 50 years James Edward Mears of McMinnville, her children, Chris (Jennifer) Mears of Morrison, Kevin Edward (Naomi) Mears of Cookeville and Katrina (Bryan) Davis of Clermont Florida; grandchildren Noah Mears, Edward Mears, Ally Mears and Autumn Mears of Cookeville, Prestyn Davis, Logan Davis, Austin Davis and Bella Davis of Clermont Florida.
She also survived by her loving brothers, Curley Reed of McMinnville, Jerry (Betty) Reed of Woodbury, Terry (Pat) Reed of Woodbury, Joe Reed of Woodbury and loving Sister Geneva Hoover of Edmond Oklahoma; brothers-in-law John (Valerie) Mears of McMinnville and George Mears; sisters-in-law, Brenda Reed Evans, Mrytle Cox, Roberta Collins, Maggie Lance, Treva (Paul) Hutchins, Wallene Davis. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Mears was a former employee of Colonial Manufacturing and Valdor of Woodbury, Aladdin Electronics of Smithville and was a substitute teacher at Centertown Elementary in Warren County. She was known by many as Mrs. Faye, a long-time childcare provider for many family and friends who were blessed to have her in their lives. She enjoyed vacation bible school, visiting Florida, lighthouses, helping others but most of all spending time with her family.
Her family will receive friends, Saturday June 7, 2025 at Woodbury Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Lance officiating. Burial will follow at Bluewing cemetery in Cannon County.
