Two alleged burglars are in custody following an arrest by the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department. Harlan Batey, age 36 of Hohenwald, and Krista Bailey, age 37 also of Hohenwald, were arrested by Sheriff’s Deputy Reed Bryson after they reportedly broke into a residence on Hurricane Creek Road and stole several items. Additionally, the two were alleged to have broken into an automobile also on the property. Court documents state that the two then stole several items from the car. The pair is charged with aggravated burglary, theft over $1,000.00, vandalism over $500.00, vandalism up to $499.99, theft under $500.00 and burglary.
Each is free on $20,000.00 bond and will appear before General Sessions Judge Susan Melton on December 1st. It is unknown if any of the property stolen was recovered.
