Linda Bryson Fann, age 77, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, May 9th, 2025, after a short illness, in Murfreesboro, TN.
Born on June 25, 1947 in Woodbury, TN, seventeen years after the birth of her older sister, Linda was the daughter and cherished surprise of Willie H. Bryson & Edith Tenpenny Bryson.
Linda is survived by her husband and lifelong love, Joe Don Fann. They met only a mile from their family farm of over fifty years as pre-teens. They married just after high school, and raised their two children, Donald (wife, Cortilla) Fann, and Jenni (husband, Tony) Arnold on the family farm just outside of Auburntown. Linda’s three adored granddaughters are Chloe (husband, Ian McCord), Corinne, & Hattie Fann.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Edith Bryson, her sister, Mildred Bryson Lewis, mother & father-in-law, Kathryn & Fred Fann, brothers & sister-in-law JW Fann, Jackie Fann, Freddie Fann, Joyce & Don Grizzle.
Linda is survived by brothers & sisters-in-law Pat Fann, Kathy & John Smith, Kerry & Myra Fann, and Bobby & Ashley Fann. She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Linda worked at Colonial Corporation after high school, and she later worked in sales and customer service at ASD.com. She formed lifelong friendships with co-workers at both companies.
She accepted everyone she met with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. As quoted by a dear friend on Linda’s last day here on earth, she was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 Woman.
Linda remained active and had many interests and talents. She was an artist and a master seamstress, creating quilts, curtains, dresses for her granddaughters, & formal gowns, often creating her own patterns. She had an eye for design, and she helped create wardrobes for countless theater programs in the Middle TN area. An accomplished cook, she was most famous for her sourdough bread.
Services for Linda will be at 2pm on Tuesday, May 13th at the Woodbury Funeral Home, with visitation 4-8pm on Monday May 12 and until services on May 13th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, where Linda was a lifelong member, the Duggin Cemetery, or the American Cancer Society.
Linda’s parting advice to loved ones would be, “Learn how to make sourdough bread, and share a loaf…or two…with your neighbor.”
