By the time the Cannon County Lions football team ran their first offensive play from the line of scrimmage, the game was already over. The Cascade Champions scored on the first offensive possession, then recovered two Cannon County fumbles in a row and scored on both as a result and before halfway into the first quarter Cascade would post a 20-0 on the Lions. A Blocked punt set up another Champion touchdown and a touchdown as a result of yet another Cannon County fumble on the ensuing kickoff rounded out the scoring for Cascade. With the clock running in the third quarter due to the mercy rule, the Lions kept from getting shut out as time expired to end the third quarter as Hawk Love ran 58 yards for a touchdown and the final score ended up 41-7. Offensively minus the turnovers and fundamental mistakes, the Lions and Champions rushing numbers were close to each other. Cannon County will now travel Friday to face Livingston who is sitting atop the district standings with Dekalb County.
