Man Fires Warning Shots At Possible Burglary Suspect

A Cannon County man called the Sheriff’s Department about a possible burglary/break in after chasing the possible suspect and firing three warning shots.  According to Cannon County Sheriff’s Department reports, Deputies were dispatched to a Seals Hollow Road residence.  Upon arrival the man said that he pulled up at the residence and saw a shadow in the bedroom window.  At that point he called the homeowner to see if anyone was home.  Once he got confirmation that no was was supposed to be home, he decided to enter the house.  He went in through the kitchen door after noticing that the door was ajar and not completely closed.  He noticed that there were lights on in the master bedroom.  When he walked in the bedroom he saw that the homeowner’s guns were laying on the bed and not in their usual spot in the corner.  A pistol was on the opposite side of the room.  He headed into the living room, heard a noise coming for another room.  Once in that room he saw the shape of someone or something run out the kitchen door.  At that point he followed behind and noticed that it appeared to be a man around 5’8″ slim build, wearing a blue baseball cap backwards along with a pair of khaki or camo shorts and a t-shirt.  The man had brownish colored hair that was short and slightly curly.  The man followed the suspect and chased him about 30 feet and then fired three rounds to scare the suspect.  After seeing the suspect flee in the direction of the barn he then went back inside the premises to double check and make sure the house was clear.  Once the homeowner arrived he then called 9-1-1 to report.  Police are still investigating.
