Pre K-Kindergarten Screenings in Cannon Are Postponed

Cannon County Schools have announced that the PreK – Kindergarten Screenings scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th and Thursday, March 26th, 2020 are postponed and will be rescheduled for other dates in the future.

Cannon County Schools are CLOSED through April 3rd, 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns as recommended by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Tennessee Commissioner of Education Penny Schwinn.  Public Health Officials have advised to limit gatherings of 10 or more, and these screenings would have potential students interact with multiple other adults, students, and parents.

Director of Cannon County Schools, Mr. William F. Curtis, stated, “These important screenings for our future students – PreK and Kindergarten are essential for our school system.  However, the health, safety, and well-being of these students is paramount and our top priority, which is why we will be rescheduling these screenings for a later date in the future.  We appreciate our parents/guardians understanding and patience during this unprecedented event in modern school history.  We will advertise the new dates and times and get the word out via multiple measures after April 6th, 2020.”
