Sandy Bunge

Sandra Bunge, age 84, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully at her home Monday morning, January 31, 2022.  She was born July 26, 1937 to her parents, Walter and Carrie (Taylor) Lutz of Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, David Paul Bunge. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, she was a graduate of West High School. Sandy and Dave met when they both worked at the original Lazarus department store. For the next 28 years they lived in Columbus and raised two sons, Jerry and Robert. In 1986 they packed up and moved to Tennessee where they owned and operated WBRY-AM radio in Woodbury. After they retired, they toured the country in their RV until they settled in Las Vegas in 2009, where their elder son lives.

Throughout her life, Sandy was a wife, homemaker, pre-school teacher, school PTA president, radio station Chief Financial Officer, Public Library board member and treasurer, Food Bank president and treasurer, Lions Club member and, most importantly, our mother.

She was preceded in death by her sister Rue Hager, and her brothers Jack, Herb, Earl, and Taylor.  She will be missed and her amazing, beautiful, life will be celebrated by her brother Phil in Florida, son Jerry in Nevada, son Robert and his wife Cathy in Maryland, granddaughter Margaret in Utah, and grandson John in Maryland, along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members, as well as many, many  friends.
