A disturbing scene at a Cannon County home Monday morning. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to assist officers in their investigation of the death of a Parch Corn Road woman.

According to Cannon County Sheriff Billy Nichols, Russell Walls called dispatchers at the 911 Center to report finding his wife, Rhoda Walls hanging from a tree in their yard Monday morning.

Investigators are now working to determine whether or not the death was a suicide.

Rhoda Walls is from Oregon and moved to Tennessee three years ago and married Russell Walls.

The two reportedly got into an altercation Saturday night. Russell Walls has been booked 14 times in the last five years in Cannon County. He was in jail Monday, wanted on unrelated charges by his mother.

Russell Walls is 28 years old, Rhoda was 23 and they have a 5-month-old son.
