A Woodbury woman who went on a shoplifting spree in Murfreesboro was caught at her second stop and arrested and also charged with several drug offenses Tuesday afternoon. According to Murfreesboro Police Reports, Police were called to the JCPenney’s at the Stones River Mall and upon arrival spoke to employees. One of the employees stated that he saw Tammy L. Rippetoe age 48 of Woodbury take items from the store. Security caught up with Rippetoe and she admitted to taking the items and not paying for them. The value of the items taken from J.C. Penney was in the amount of $611.98. However security noticed several items in her car that were not placed in bags. Further investigation showed that she had allegedly stolen those items from the nearby Target store in the valued amount of $954.97. Before being placed under arrest Rippetoe then told officers she wanted to die. As a result, Police called EMS who transported her to the St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. At that point police told Rippetoe she was under arrest for theft. A search of her purse turned up several prescription drugs without prescription including hydrocodone. A search of the vehicle found 2 bags of marijuana. Rippetoe has been charged with 2 counts of theft over $500, 3 counts possession schedule 2 drugs, possession schedule 4 and 6 drugs and possession of legend drug without prescription.
