Southern Women’s Show Ablaze With Stars

Nashville, TN – The impressive list of fashion, food and cultural icons set to appear the 2013 Southern Women’s Show in Nashville continues to grow. The premier consumer event for women, the Southern Women’s Show, engages all ages and walks of life with its multifaceted attractions including fashion shows, cooking clinics, career forums, health tests and education, hundreds of exhibits and shops and celebrity appearances.
Among the shining stars of this year’s event is reality TV’s most eligible man, Sean Lowe.   Lowe [pictured] from the popular shows The Bachelor, and now Dancing with the Stars, headlines the fun when the Southern Women’s Show returns to the Nashville Convention Center from April 18-21, 2013.   The 6’3” bachelor went to Kansas State on a full football scholarship and as a linebacker was part of the 2003 Big 12 Conference Championship Team. Sean also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science. Although he started off his career in finance, he followed in his father’s footsteps in the insurance industry before committing to his new enterprise, owning and running an upscale, custom furniture business.  After falling for Emily Maynard last season on The Bachelorette, the Texas native knew the time was right for him to make the ultimate commitment to the right woman and to start his own family. He found his leading lady in Catherine Giudici and now Sean will dish behind the scenes secrets from both shows and set tabloid rumors straight during his appearance on the 107.5  The River Main Stage at 1:00pm on Thursday, April 18.

Southern Women’s Show organizers are excited to also welcome Kay Robertson from A&E’s most watched series Duck Dynasty. Faith, family, and food are at the center of the Robertson family of which Miss Kay is the revered matriarch. What Kay says … goes. Just 16 when she married Phil, Kay keeps her whiskered hubby and their masculine brood in line and out of the woods with her down-home sensibility and some good cooking. Miss Kay will discuss her unique take on Southern cuisine and the ins-and-outs of Duck Commander on the 107.5  The River Main Stage at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 20. Dick’s Sporting Goods is proud to sponsor Miss Kay’s appearance and to carry Duck Commander products in its stores.

Pop culture fans will be thrilled at the opportunity to meet Deidre Hall from daytime TV’s Days of Our Lives.  As one of the most elegant and beloved women in television, Deidre created the role of ‘Dr. Marlena Evans’ in 1976, a character whose popularity created a furor and a fan following seldom seen in television.  She has been named Best Television Role Model; won the prestigious American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) Award in 1994; garnered five Best Actress Awards from Soap Opera Digest (1982-85, 1995) along with a Best Actress nomination (1999).  She broke new ground for daytime stars when she guest-starred on shows such as The Tonight Show, Night of A Hundred Stars, a Bob Hope Special and 20/20 surrounding the event of the birth of her eldest son with a surrogate.  Deidre has written two books – “Deidre Hall’s How Does She Do It? A Beauty Book” and “Deidre Hall’s Kitchen Closeup.”  Now after 35 years of being shot from every angle by an unforgiving TV camera, Deidre is sharing her secrets of beauty survival.  She has developed a line of beauty essentials that are perfect for every woman who wants to improve her appearance and retain a youthful look.

Additional celebrity appearances at this year’s show include Danielle Knox of The Balancing Act, Country music star Stella Parton, Miss United States Whitney Miller, and more.
