A Brush Creek man was arrested recently by the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department after a cell phone was found in his possession. According to police reports 32 year old Jonathan Edgar Payton was stopped by Deputy Travis Turney. A search of his vehicle produced the stolen cell phone which was taken from Jerry Pelham’s Auto Salvage. Payton was charged with Theft over $500. A check on Payton’s license came back suspended for a 6th time. Payton was also charged with Driving on a Suspended License. Payton made bond and will answer to the charges in Cannon County General Sessions Court March 5th
