In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, the Tennessee Department of Correction will host a free community event focused on education, prevention, remembrance, and recovery.
Observed annually on August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those who have lost their lives, acknowledge the grief of families and friends, and share life-saving education about overdose prevention.
The event will be held at TDOC’s Community Resource Centers in Murfreesboro and is designed to connect community members with local organizations, valuable resources, and support services. Attendees will hear from guest speakers, participate in awareness activities, visit community resource booths, and enjoy food from local food trucks.
