Terry Lee Frye, of Woodbury, passed away at home on May 26, 2025, at the age of 74, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on April 4, 1951 in Chattanooga, TN, he was the son of Prentis Max Frye I and Dorthy Reynolds Frye.
In his youth Terry’s family relocated to St. Albans, WV where he met his wife Cathy Workman Frye, who would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on June 18th. In 1978 they settled in Cannon County where they raised their four children. Terry is survived by his wife, Cathy, his children Casey (Chrissy) Frye of Bradyville, Chris (Erica) Frye of Columbia, Holly (Chris) Davenport of Woodbury; grandchildren Lindsey Frye, JC Frye, Ally Frye, Sophie Frye, Sawyer Frye, Emma Kimbrough, and Tate Kimbrough, and great grandson Hudson Frye. In addition, his brothers Prentis Max Frye II and John Phillip (Becky) Frye and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Chad Frye, and sister-in-law Mary Frye.
Terry attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, TN on a four year baseball scholarship. There he earned his B.S. in soil science. After graduation he used his degree to serve many farmers of Cannon County and the surrounding areas. To say Terry was an avid fisherman and hunter would be an understatement! In his free time you could almost always find him on the lake, in a deer stand, or in a duck blind. In his retirement he also enjoyed taking his grandkids for nature rides on his golf cart and watching sports with his grandson.
He faced his diagnosis like he did all things in life, with a positive attitude and a strong faith in Jesus.
