May 15th-21st is National Emergency Services Week. Cannon County Executive Mike Gannon signed a proclaimation signifying the week as susch.National Emergency Medical Services week brings together the community and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day to day life saving of emergency medicin’s front line. May 18th is set aside as Emergency Medical Services for Children Day. This year’s them is Every Day Heroes. The theme is all about celebrating EMS Providers such as first responders, hospitals, emergency physicians and public health providers. It also is about engagin the whole community in reducing risk and saving lives. According to Ken Murphy Federal Emergency Management Regional Administrator our nation’s EMS providers do an incredible job often risking their own lives to save others .
