Over the next two weeks, two different blood drives will be conducted inCannon County. This coming Thursday July 21st the Woodbury Lions Club
will host a blood drive from noon to 6 at the Woodbury Lions Club
building, As an extra incentive this summer, anyone who presents to donate
blood with the Red Cross between now and Sept. 5 is automatically entered
into a drawing for a $250 gas card. On Labor Day weekend, anyone
presenting to donate Friday through Monday is automatically entered into a
drawing for a $1,000 gas card.
On Saturday July 30th from 8AM-1PM Blood Assurance the non profit regional
blood center will host a blood drive at the Grace Assembly Of God
To be eligible to donate, you must be at least 17 years old (16 years old
with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.
The process usually takes about 30 minutes and includes a complimentary
snack and t-shirt. Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids – avoiding
caffeine – and eat a meal that is rich in iron prior to donating. Blood
Assurance is the exclusive provider of all blood products Stones River
Hospital.
Each blood donation has the potential to benefit up to three patients in
need.
Visitors at the blood drive will be eligible to register for the Blood
Assurance monthly giveaway. Participants can submit one entry per person,
per day.
