Cannon County welcomed the month of April with a 9.1 percent unemployment. That figure is up a small 0.3 percent from the month the March when unemployment figures showed Cannon County at 8.8 percent. Across the state April’s rate decreased in 46 countries, increased in 41 counties and remained the same in 8 counties. Overall Tennessee’s unemployment rate for April was at 9.6 percent up 0.1 percent from March. Lincoln County remained the state’s lowest county with a 6.6 percent unemployment rate. Scott County still had the highest unemployment rate with a 22.1 rate.The national unemployment rate is 9.0 percent.
