William Bryson Sworn In as County’s New Clerk and Master

William H. Bryson has been appointed to serve in the position of Clerk and Master forCannon County. The appointment was made by Chancellor Robert Corlew upon review of a large number of applications. Many who applied were attorneys, accountants, or business people, and a number applied who had other experience in public service and in working for county governments.
Bryson is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University School of Law, which is consistently rated asa one of the top twenty law schools in America. He has practiced law for a number of years in the Chancery Court for Cannon County. Bryson was Mayor of Woodbury a number of years ago and continues to serve as the City Attorney. He is also Chairman of the Woodbury Housing Authority and Vice-Chairman of the Cannon County Library Board of Trustees. He serves on the Highland Rim Regional Library Board and the Foster Care Review Board. He served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Commerce for some seventeen years. He was at one time a member and officer of the Woodbury Lions Club and has been active in productions at the Cannon County Arts Center.
Bryson will assume his duties immediately. He replaces Harold Patrick, who retired after serving thirteen years as Clerk and Master.
